LOU CHIODO RETURNS FOR ADVANCED TRAINING CLINIC!

Live Safe Academy, LLC is an MCOLES approved Criminal Justice Training Provider. This event has been approved for 302 Funds.

Live Safe Academy, LLC, in conjunction with the Great Lakes Self-Defense Association (www.glsda.org) Corporate Sponsor Program, is proud to announce the return of Louis M. Chiodo for the twelfth Advanced Training Clinic (LSA TC, September 2007) organized by Ian Kinder. This event will consist of three separate programs. Louis M. Chiodo of GUNFIGHTERS Ltd. will teach an eight hour handgun course on "Support Hand Only" Combat Shooting Methods on 9-29-07 and an eight hour workshop on Close-Quarters Battle Rifle and Shotgun methods on 9-30-07. Ian Kinder of Live Safe Academy, LLC will teach a two hour program on Unarmed Combat the evening of 9-29-07. As with all previous advanced training clinics organized by Ian Kinder, the goal is to provide access to the best of law enforcement quality self-defense training to Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL) holders. This event will take place at the Livingston Conservation and Sports Association in Brighton Michigan (Livingston County).

Taught by Lou Chiodo, the Close-Quarters Battle Rifle and Shotgun seminar is a single, one-day workshop divided into two sections. The rifle section will explore the use of the rifle as a primary weapon system in either law enforcement or home defense. The focus of the seminar will be employing the rifle from point blank range to approximately 50 yards. The emphasis will be on developing close range skills that are directly applicable to the manner in which the rifle is used in real world encounters. Additional topics will include considerations in the selection of equipment and ammunition and the effects of combat stress as it applies to our use of the rifle in close-quarter engagements. The combat shotgun is a devastating close-quarters fighting tool. The primary objective of this section is to increase the participant's ability to employ the combat shotgun with increased proficiency and to instill greater confidence in his/her ability to employ the combat shotgun as a primary defensive weapon. In conjunction with shooting skill development, topics will include target engagement, shot patterns and how they affect target engagement and tactical considerations when employing the combat shotgun.

Hey Guys,

I normally don’t do follow-up post to these workshops but our September clinic is really shaping up to be a great event. We have students coming from as far as Pennsylvania and will have officers from many departments throughout the state. If you have not trained with Live Safe Academy, LLC or Lou Chiodo before, you should really take advantage of this opportunity. There are a lot of great instructors out there but training with Lou is a unique experience that should not be missed. It just might change how you think about firearms training.

The unarmed combat class is also a great opportunity for gun owners who want to learn effective, practical skills without going through the formalities of a traditional program… and the fee is only $25.oo. This class is a great confidence builder and our school is well known for these types of concentrated, no-nonsense classes.

Thank you to all the students who attended our LSA TC, September 2007 featuring Lou Chiodo of GUNFIGHTERS, Ltd. and myself, this was a great event. We had officers from seven different departments and concealed pistol license holders from around the state. Everyone was safe and accurate, even though most had very little experience using a shotgun or shooting a pistol using the support hand only. The average rate of fire was five shots in just over a one second, and again, that’s safe, accurate and with a shotgun or pistol held in the support hand only. Students were able to shoot and move effortlessly after just a few hours of training.

Thank you also to the students who took my unarmed combat class. Everyone was able to hit very hard and fast while moving rapidly. I was humbled by your positive feedback.

I hope to see all of you again soon. If you have not participated in one of these events, you really should give it a try. The training is a lot of fun and very rewarding, and you’re not going to find a more professional, qualified or realistic instructor than Lou.
