Out shooting at a friends house today and one of the guys had a slamfire with a .410

Scary stuff for sure and a good reminder to never be down range while people are doing ANYTHING else on the line (or vice versa).

Why are people even loading their guns if others are down-range?

Why are people even loading touching their guns if others are down-range?
FIFY

Most of us don't know what is going on inside the heads of those that break the safety rules, but it happens ALLOT.

Thankfully, the OP was just a reminder that machines fail. It is up to us to ensure the safety of others in the event such a failure occurs.

I had this happen once.. and I was on the loading end..

I won't lie getting yelled at sucked but was well deserved..

But the fact it happened scared the **** out of me..

Now when someone goes down range.. I just set my gun down and wait..

the extra few seconds I could have shot certainly wasn't worth that..
