We kind of spotted that screw up too. That language has always been there, and we didn't notice it until HB 5225 passed.

Question:
Can't a paper entity also be an FFL? Or, do they include corporations in the term "person"?


(7) As used in this section, "federally licensed firearms dealer" means an individual who holds a type 01 dealer license a person licensed to sell firearms under 18 USC 923.

Wow...this one is really moving. It passed the Senate already. What I find sad is that 5 people in the senate are so anti-gun they voted no on this thing.

We now have the S-2 language, looks pretty good. They cleaned up the some confusion, and made the change retroactive back to when 5225 was passed.

12 --(A) BEFORE DECEMBER 18, 2012, "federally licensed firearms

I am a little confused. In this bill it says you have 10 days to return your portion of permit to your police Dept.

Now if you have to get a pistol purchase permit for private sale is that still a 30 day limit??

So if you buy from a dealer you have 10 days but from a private sale you have 30 days to get your portion to the police? ?

Yes, you just have a little confusion. They changed the law so that the License To Purchase is good to make your PURCHASE WITH 30 DAYS, then you have 10 days from the DATE OF PURCHASE to turn either the LTP (RI-10) OR the PSR (RI-06). That all changed with the passage of HR5225 last Dec.

This Bill just cleans up a SNAFU with the definition of a "Licensed Dealer"
