Here's what Michigan Gun Owners would like to see accomplished in the 2012-2013 session.

1. Passage of the Michigan Firearms Act which will allow manufacturers that produce firearms, magazines or ammunition in our State to not be beholden to any federal gun legislation as long as the guns are for intrastate use. Certain exceptions are made for full auto, bore diameter, etc. This would certainly make our State attractive to firearms and accessory manufacturers.

2. Shifting the responsibility of CPL issuance to the State level rather than the counties to allow for a more equitable system of issuance. This may be with the Secretary of State, or even the MSP, we will make that decision as legislation is proposed.

MGO would like to see clarification in the law AND penalties for non compliance.

3. Pistol free zones opened up for concealed carry

This MAY require advanced training for those that wish to carry in these areas, but we are trying to open it to all current CPL holders. We are weighing those options currently. Additionally, the schools may or may not be on the table. We will certainly fight for them to be included.

4. Fend off in any way we can, the attempts to limit our 2A rights on a federal level.
