MDFI is pleased to announce that we are bringing Kerry Davis back in to Michigan for his flagship Tactical Med Class. This class is done under Kerry's company, Dark Angel Medical. it will be a 2 day NON live fire class. The kicker here, is included with the class tuition is a free D.A.R.K Medical kit that retails for 159.00. And is one of the best direct response kits on the market.

This class is a must have. While most of us will never even come close to using our firearms, I can all but guarantee that you WILL use at least one piece of information from this class in your life. And that can be the difference between life or death.

If you spend any time on the range or you are a instructor you owe it to yourself and your students to have medical training for everyone's safety.

DESCRIPTION:

When life expectancy is measured in seconds and help is minutes away, will you know what to do? In our uncertain lives, that is a question that we all need to be able to answer a resounding, “Yes!” to.

Dark Angel Medical, LLC, is proud to offer training and instruction in the use of the D.A.R.K. The Tactical Aid Course fills a niche between military self-aid/buddy care training and civilian EMS training and is geared towards those with little to no medical training or background. It provides the student with critical, need-to-know information, which can be utilized in a myriad of situations and stresses the ‘you don’t know what you don’t know’ principle as well as our own principle of “Simplicity Under Stress”.

The course is 2 days in length with a total of 16 hours of classroom work to include slide presentations, videos, question and answer sessions and hands-on practical skills application.

***There are no prerequisites for this clas*******

A manual and all training aids will be provided. A D.A.R.K. will also be provided to each student as part of the tuition. Cost of the course (2 days instruction plus the D.A.R.K.—a $169.95 value) is $450.00 per person.
The course covers the following:

Physiological and Psychological reactions to environmental stress
The importance of having the proper Combat Mindset
Basic Anatomy and Physiology of life-sustaining systems
H, A, B, C’s—Hemorrhage, Airway, Breathing and Circulation
Breakdown and usage of Individual Med Kit components
Proper stowage and employment of the IMK
Hands-on application of the IMK
Basic and Advanced Airway management -treating and monitoring tension pneumothorax (familiarization with chest decompression), sucking chest wound and flail chest
Airway adjunct device placement-Nasopharyngeal Airway
Basic First Aid and Advanced wound care
Application of Bandages and Hemostatic Agents
Application of tourniquets
Recognition and Treatment of various injuries (Gunshot, Laceration, Burn, Airway, Head, Orthopedic, Environmental)
Recognition and treatment of hypovolemic (hemorrhagic) shock
Moving and positioning victims with various injuries
Response to active shooter situation
Proper use of cover and cover vs. concealment
Casualty recovery in an Active Shooter situation
Mass casualty triage procedure
Emergency Medical Dialect/Lingo (911 protocol, cooperation with LE, Fire and EMS and First Responders)

Hardware/Kit

Note pad and pen/pencil/Sharpie
Individual First Aid Kit—If you choose to. All training materials are provided.
Clothing suited to strenuous type activity as well as being seasonally appropriate
Appropriate foot wear
Knee and Elbow pads (optional)
Gloves (optional)
An open mind


REGISTRATION:

Registration for classes will be accomplished by going to www.darkangelmedical.com and clicking on the ‘Products’ tab and clicking on the ‘Training’ icon. The student will not be charged tax (if out of state—in-state Colorado residents will be charged applicable sales tax) or shipping fees. They will also have a choice of either Coyote Brown or MultiCam pouches. If multiple classes are open for registration, it is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that they have annotated which class they are registering for in the ‘Instructions/Comments’ box on the order form. We will have a course schedule on our website with all course dates and locations.

If paying for more than one student, please add the additional student(s) name(s) in the ‘Instructions/Comments’ box on the order form so that we can have a correct head count on our roster.

Registration will end 28 days out from the class date unless additional slots remain open or the class has not met it’s minimum number of participants.

I just took this class last week (sorry Keith, couldn't do it the weekend that you are hosting). For anyone who hasn't taken any medical training, this is a must. Great class and Kerry is a great guy. :thup:

If you are going to take this class make sure you sign up NOW! As of right now they do not have enough people signed up to have the class. According to Kerry they need 9 more people to sign up by October 7th. So do not wait to sign up.

Talked to Kerry today and we have hit the minimum needed, this class is a go! If you were waiting to sign up, get on it!

Is a lunch planned or should we pack in our own?
