It depends on whether they will be running more than one relay. Let me ask and see if I can get an answer for you.

There will be four relays of ~8 people each, so bring what you want to shoot and they will try to accommodate you if there is enough time.

ok so theres a clinic, then a match? What is the clinic portion entail?

Can I do two clinics (garand/carbine)? Or just two relays?

The clinic encompasses instruction for all rifles at the same time. You would shoot two different relays, each with a different rifle, assuming there is time to allow that. They will try to accommodate everyone.

This event is taught by GSM Master Instructors who have been trained by the CMP. The clinic is basic instruction in how each rifle works: how to load each rifle, how to load/unload the en-bloc clips, how to use each rifle's sights, getting the proper sight picture, demonstrations on each shooting position, natural point of aim, dry firing, preventing "M1 thumb," how to score targets. Everything you need to know to participate in a CMP match.

After lunch, they will hold a 100-yd match.

If you are interested, here's an article with pix on the CMP website from an old clinic taught in Howell by different instructors. It will give you an idea of what to expect, but probably not as intense.

Reminder to sign up now for the GSC Clinic in Dimondale on 3/29/08. Dust off the old military rifles and head out for some fun times learning about and shooting the M1 Rifle, M1 Carbine, M1903, or 03A3. You will be prepared to participate in any club's CMP matches or at Camp Perry itself.

Also, your neighborhood clubs are now able to award CMP pins at the local matches, so you have a chance to win gold, silver, bronze pins in upcoming matches this season.
