We are located in Saline,MI at 8640 Moon rd. Saline. Just off US 12 about 2 miles. No pre-registration required. We have 6 firing points on the 100 yard range. We hold these matches throughout the summer months & we especially encourage people who have no experience shooting Matches.

Military Rifle Match Saturday April 19, 2008

The First Military Rifle Fun Match for 2008 is scheduled. This is a Rifle Match, where we include all Military Type Rifles, even sporterized types. The intent is to familiarize our members & friends & neighbors with Military match procedures & also bring new people into the Club. All Tri-County Sportsmen’s League members & their Guests, other Clubs and the Public are encouraged to attend. Tell a neighbor, & bring him out. The FEE will be $15 ea. Bring your US or foreign made Military rifle , and 35 rounds of Ammo to the club between 0830- 0900 Saturday April 19th 2008 for a briefing on rules. Shooting will begin at 10:00AM. Scopes, iron sights, Sporterized stocks are OK!!!!….. Firing line procedures will run using current NRA high-power rifle rules. Shooting will begin at 10:00am on the 100 yd range. No automatic weapons. We will cover correct sling procedure, usage & adjustments. Don’t forget to bring something to lay on in the Prone position like an exercise mat, piece of carpet, shooting mat etc. I will have extra military slings for those that don’t have one. We strongly encourage using a sling. Again, instruction will be available.
Following is a sampling of Rifles you COULD bring
M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, 1903 Springfield or the 03A3, K98 Mauser & it's family, British Enfield, 1917 Enfield, Krag ,
Japanese Arisaka type 99, Mosin Nagant, K31, M1A, AK-47, AR-15, SKS , MAS, Trapdoor.

All competitor/shooters must supply their own safe ammo.
Bring your spotting scopes, binoculars, & something to lay on. Don’t forget your safety glasses.
We also take good pictures of all shooters with your rifles, post them on the forum here, for your album .

Course of Fire

When you arrive at the range at 0900 or before, you will pay your fee and be issued a target. You will put your name at the top and the type rifle you will be firing. When we have everyone issued targets, the briefing will begin.

The course of fire will be as follows...........using the SR-1 Target, Which is actually a 200 yd target reduced for a 100 yard range.
Firing will be on the 100 yd range, with 5 firing positions across. Benches will be moved to the back for spotting scopes for the next relay.

Total rounds fired would be 35. Five (5) rounds to sight in, 30 rounds for score.
10 rounds in the prone position, slow fire, 10 minutes time limit
10 rounds in the Prone position, rapid fire, 60 seconds time limit for AR & AK Rifles & M1 Garands, 80 Sec. for bolt guns.
10 rounds in the standing/offhand position, slow fire 10 minutes
Each shooter will go down range after each stage, patch & score his target.
Use of the military type sling is encouraged. Instruction for those that are not familiar will be provided.
For the rapid fire stage, you are encouraged to have the proper stripper clips to load 5 & 5 rounds twice (if applicable) The AR-15 & AK-47 will have two magazines/clips loaded with 5 rounds each for the rapid fire stage. The M1 Garands will have (1) two round clip,(can be a standard clip with two rounds inserted) then an 8 round clip in unison.
