I got a letter from S&W yesterday that announced a safety alert, if you own a Shield here's what to do to determine if yours needs to be returned:

I bought mine on 6/11/12 & it's fine. I don't have to return mine. The reason I'm posting this is for those who might be the 2nd or 3rd owner of one & won't get this letter.
