I have noticed a small change in SB 0572 but why is it there?

"(a) A school or school property except that a parent or legal
guardian of a student of the school is not precluded from
carrying a concealed pistol while in a vehicle on school property,
if he or she is dropping the student off at the school or picking
up the (changed the word "child" to: )student from the school.

So say you drop your child off at a ball game at another school it would become illegal. Why must there always be a compromise?

They are making the change to maintain a continuity in the paragraph. They refer to student twice, then child once, when they mean the same in all instances.

By all means, I read every word, pay attention to punctuation, and analyze sentence structure. It seems like sometimes they ARE trying to sneak something through.

ETA:
I hate it when they play back and forth with "a person" and "an individual". When taken in contest, they can mean very different things.

Who are the taser lobbyists and why are they more affective than the gun lobbyists? Are there a half dozen taser rights groups in Michigan? Are the protaser guys a big voting block for the republicans? How does this crap move along and our concerns continue to be completely ignored?
