Martial Tactical Training of Michigan (MTTM) announces its new Emergency Preparedness curriculum: Emergency Preparedness in the Home.

This two hour classroom style training explores the necessities and requirements of a kit intended to help individuals deal with a home-based threat condition (such as fire, tornado, floods/blizzards, etc) for 3 days and more.

The curriculum discusses some of the common perceptions and misconceptions of the role of the 72 hour kit, and reinforces the plausible, reality based nature of kit and home inventories. This basic level class is intended for in-the-home or shelter-at-home emergencies (99% of all emergency scenarios), how to prepare for them, and how to recover from them.

Course topics:
• The intended role/purpose of the 72 hour kit
• Understanding threats through risk analysis
• Planning for threats through the use of a threat matrix
• Survival prioritization
• Shelter, clothing, and heat sources
• Water and nutrition
• Essential gear
• First aid
• Preparing threat mitigation documentation
• Suggested training and skill sets
• Community and other emergency resources
• And more!
