I get the feeling the big pike are a little confused this year about when to spawn.

Somewhere around 40-43" (had to use my three year old as a tape measure). Southern Oakland county!

VERY nice!

Thanks! We were a little surprised when we pulled it through the hole to say the least. My son isn't afraid of much but started slowly backing away when he realized the fish was almost his size. My kid is 40" without boots and a hat for very rough reference:

Awesome experience for your son, he won't ever forget the "monster" he caught with Dad.

What lake if you don't mind me asking?

I caught a 41" pike (largest I've ever caught) when I was about 12(?), fishing with my dad floating down the Raisin River down in Monroe. Great memory!

I hope hes old enough to remember at 3.5 years. Also hoping he won't be too disappointed catching bluegill in the summer.

Middle Straits Lake in Commerce.

Thanks. Wish we had better than the blackberry pictures but it should be enough to jog his memory.
