I will be receiving my Nikon P-22 scope tomorrow and will be putting it on a 10/22. I need rings/mount recommendations. I was looking at the Nikon P Series mount but I really don't know what I need. Am also considering Leupold rings. Help!

On a 22 you can get away with some pretty inexpensive rings. Just make sure you buy the correct height, so your housing clears the barrel. A 10/22 barrel is recessed and tapered.... you could probable run low/medium rinds. A $20 pair of millet, leupold, weaver will do you fine. I suggest steel over aluminum.

I highly suggest you spend about $10 on a new rail as well. Examples below ;)

Should I not use the rail that came with the gun? If not, why not?
The rail that comes with the rifle has a tendency to work itself loose after time. Also, leupold rifleman rings in medium height put my prostaff rimfire 40mm just over the barrel with an aftermarket picatinny rail.
