Wondering if anyone has any input regarding an optic for a PAP92 pistol. My eyes are getting bad in my old age, & I need help.
I put a cheap red dot sight on it. Worked pretty good for a short while. Won't stay lit now. Don't want to spend a ton of $$$.
Would a Fast Fire hold up? I saw a wide one at Gibralter that was interesting, (Chinese ) but it was only $85, so I passed.

A Fast Fire should hold up nicely. I put a Vortex SPARC on mine.

After some deliberation, i decided to go with the Vortex. Everything I read has been positive.
Price was quite a bit cheaper too. Should have it next week.

Got the Vortex yesterday. Easy to mount. Used my bore sighter to set it up.
Went to Top Gun this morning to check it out. Was dead on at 15 yds. Makes
the PAP easy to shoot, re-aquiring the target is great.
Thank you Buffman for pointing me in this direction. I would recommend this sight.

I know it's ben awhile, but I took this to the range again last week. It still shoots great, but I realized the sights are useless. If my batteries go dead, I'm out of luck.
Thought about mounting the Sparc with a 45 degree mount. Never tried this, just wondered what y'all think.

Looks like you have a Midwest rail. I believe they have an upper cover that will let you co witness your red dot with your irons. I put an aimpoint on mine but that's what I did.

Looks like your rear sight sits up higher than mine.

Just looked it up for you and they said it didn't co witness. Damn. Sorry

Digging through my junk tote, I found this see through mount. Doesn't co-witness, but can see the irons looking below the scope. Something different, but it does give me the option.
Thanks for the input Dsully, & please don't mention my pic quality.

Take a look at the Vortex Spitfire 1X. It's a prism scope, so if the battery goes out, the lens is etched with the circle/dot pattern and you see a black etching, instead of the red or green illumination. I have one on a Ruger 10/22 and love it. Very fast sight picture to pick-up too. You can remove the spacer to lower the scope, closer to the rail.
Another thing, being prismatic, you won't get the "starburst" effect you get with regular red dot scopes, if you have astigmatism.

Before I buy something else, I'm going to give this set-up a try. I think it will work ok for shooting paper.
