Does any one know the status on the bill to allow certain handgun ammo in rifles for hunting? Thanks Stan

It passed the House, went to the Senate, was reported out of committee with a recommendation for substitute language. It is now in the hands of the Senate, on the floor, and needs to be brought up for a vote.

Just a note, I don't support this bill as written. I will not oppose it with my Senator, but I also will not urge any action to pass it. The general idea is good, the execution is poor.

Thanks I lost track of it and could not find any thing on it. From the start this bill had problems on again off again. The whole cartridge size issue to me was a mess. Thanks again Stan

I don't understand this issue/legislation at all.

There have been people legally hunting with 44 mag/357/etc rifles for years???????????

Why is that?

I heard the MI DNR wants to do a three year trial rather than have the law passed. Sounds like a delay to me.
Ohio has a bill pending that will allow almost anything with a straight wall cartridge; .45-70, .444Marlin, .450 Marlin, etc
Indiana might change their law to allow rifle cartridges in addition to the pistol cartridges they currently allow. Such as 30-30
Michigan seems VERY SLOW to change.
