im looking at buying one of these and curious if anyone has one or has experience with using one. good or bad feedback would be appreciated. I am looking to mount this on a flat top Ar and think it will cover short/med range. looking for 25-200 yard use. thanks in advance

I have one in MOA, and am using it on a 16" SA58. FANTASTIC scope for the money. At 1x, there is no fisheye effect with the FOV. The edge of the tube just dissolves away so it's as if the reticle is just hanging in the air. Shooting it both eyes open is just like shooting an EoTech with the big red ring around the substantiated reticle. I have the switch view lever on mine (I'd reccomend it if you don't mind paying the ridiculous price they want for it). Going back and forth between 1-4x is fast and smooth. At 4x everything is very crisp. Using the reticle to rangefind is quite easy.

The turrets are very very solid. One click is worth exactly one tick on the turret. You can also have custom elevation and wind age turrets made for specific loads. All you have to do is crank in the yardage and x wind values.

Overall build quality is superb. The tube is machined from a single piece of billet (not spun sheet metal). The reticle is etched into the glass, which is coated in anti-fog, anti-glare, and HD coatings. It's built like a tank. Illumination is also one cick on one click off with 4 day modes and 6 twilight/ night modes.

There is honestly nothing bad that I have to say about this scope. When I bought this, I worked for a big name dealer and had access to leupold, vortex, Trijicon, Burris, Swarovski, and bushnell at severe discounts (30-60% off). Out of all the scopes I sold and played with on a daily basis, I liked this one the best for what I wanted (tactical scope for 0-500 yards on a 1.25 MOA gun). I even chose this over the vortex razor (the razor IS a better scope, but I liked the reticle and weight of the PST better).

One thing to keep in mind, I've never had this on an AR, but the windage turret protrudes out far enough to get in the way of flying brass. I'd doesn't effect zero or operation of the rife, but until I noticed what was happening (a couple mags) the brass beat the hell out of the machined nubs on the turret. I installed a brass deflector to protect it.

Only issues I have are redicle is not very bright at all on sunny day and there is no auto shut off of reticle light so forget to switch it off and battery is dead. For the money I like the scope.

You'll like it. I was looking at the Vortex Viper, Leupold Mark 4, and Burris XTR. I ended up with the Burris when they had that sale that included a FastFire III. The glass is great on both. Ergonomics I felt were better with the Viper. Auto shutoff on the Leupold is nice.

I have two in MILR, my favorite scope. Also have four other Vortex PST scopes. Like them a lot. Auto shut-off would be nice but don't feel the need for illumination in bright sunlight. The fastest CQB reticle I've found. The ones that I've checked the adjustment increments have been excellent, very accurate and consistent.

It was easy to hit 12" sq plates at 400 yards with an AR15 using the 1-4 PST.

I was looking at some red dots and thinking of adding the magnifier but this seems to be a better choice. I may look at a few others before I buy but the glass seems nice and I do like the set up on this one. I see they have 2 models with slightly different crosshairs. im not to concerned with the auto shut off but im sure its nice if you forget or bump in the case and switch on. thanks for the input guys. ^^ that's good to know , I head south from time to time and try to stretch out a bit.

The two reticle options are MOA (minute of angle) or MRAD (milliradian). Just two different units of angular measure. I chose the MOA just because the equation used to rangefind can be done mentally since the multiplier is an even 100 and not a decimal like Mills.

(Height of target in inches / MOA seen on reticle) X 100 = distance to target in yards

1 MOA roughly = 1" at 100 yards. Knowing that you can rangefind and figure hold over rather easily in your head as compared to....

(Height of target in inches / mills seen on reticle) X 27.78 = distance to target in yards

Some people prefer the MRAD model because the reticle is less cluttered, and Mills have been used as a unit more commonly.

yes, the one I held was the MOA but I saw the comparison on vortex sight . this is more exploded view than what I pulled up on there sight. thanks
just really have to decide to order online or buy from a local shop. prices ive seen on line are about the same as what they had so id rather buy from my LGS .

well I pulled the trigger on the MOA today and mounted it on the new flat top I have. went to the range and sighted it in and really like it. just 25 yards but I will be getting this outdoors and having fun with it.

Go with the mil version. Great scopes for the money with incredibly clear glass. My buddy was getting hits with his on IDPA size steel at 600 yds with an AR-parts gun.
