When does a target dot on a set of fine crosshairs interfer with the target? 200-300 plus yards. Thinking about buying a weaver 10x scope for my 243 to shoot varmints.

My T36 Weaver has a 1/8 minute dot. IE, for every 100 yards the dot measures just over 1/8 inch. 100 = 1/8, 200 = 1/4, 300 = 3/8, so on and so forth.

Target dots only work well on stationary targets with a white back ground. Yes it will work, but you might also loose the dot on a moving dark object. I had a T24, and it was a great scope for targets, but it was dark, very hard to see through unless you were perfectly in line.

High magnification small exit pupil scopes suffer from light transmission to the eye. Target scopes such as this don't work so well in low light conditions. Bright sunny days are great though.

My T36 sits on my 700 SPS Tactical which is used for benchrest / varmint league type shooting. Have no issue using it on woodchuck during daylight hours either. The FOV is only 3 feet at like 100 yards. Very easy to lose your target and can be difficult to acquire if the target is blending into the surroundings.

But it does track absolutely true...
