It's that time again! This is a great event in Imlay City, this is a fun event to just come out and bring the family and enjoy the day!

Note-W&W has decided not to do a West Michigan show this year-in case anyone was wondering about that.

For those that don't know the woods -n- Water weekend is held at the Eastern Michigan Fairgrounds in Imlay City, Dates, September 5,6,7
http://www.woods-n-waternews.com/Sis...r-Weekend.html (http://www.woods-n-waternews.com/Sissue-37607.292113-p24128.112113-Outdoor-Weekend.html)

Information and map to the MGO booth on page 2 of this .pdf

MGO Booth location W-n-W Imlay City.pdf (http://www.migunowners.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=22999&d=1377898303) - I know it show's the 2013 location, but it is in the same location again this year.

Volunteers for the MGO booth at the event.

We had a great crew last year and this year will be no different I am sure.
We will have good time again this year!

I have listed the volunteer needs per shift, if you are new to MGO and want to see what it is all about and the shift roster is full, just let me know and we will find a place for you to spend some time at the booth.

This event earns volunteers that are MGO members a shift credit, to be used for the Gun of the year drawing, membership renewal or gift membership.
Forum members- your first shift credit earns you a 1yr. MGO membership.

Friday the Sept. 5 -Setup time TBD, I could use 1or 2 to help with this, its a good time if you have it to learn the booth set-up

These things are normally too far in advance for me to volunteer for and be available.
I'm always pretty good at last minute helps if you ever need it.
If I'm in town, I'm just a phone call away.

I am the one that lives soooo close that it takes less time to walk there than drive and find a parking place.

Unfortunately, I won't know if I am free until that week.

"I am the one that lives soooo close that it takes less time to walk there than drive and find a parking place.

Unfortunately, I won't know if I am free until that week. "No problem guy's, you have both stepped up anytime you could, I and MGO appreciate the time you have given already.

Roundballer, I'll just put you on the gate list, if you want / can, stop by anytime you want, you are always welcome.

However there are so many other people in the general area that could help & some that complain that we don't do anything in their area and here is the opportunity, no takers and this is the really fun event, carry any way you want so that is not an excuse, heck there are just not enough excuses for the numbers we have in the Org.

People sure have lots of time to argue over the dumbest issues on the forum for lots of post's / hours on end, but to get out from the behind the computer is sure another story.

I just looked at a map and used a compass to draw a circle from where the Magnum Man will be driving in from to Imlay City and it takes in a large chunk SE MI, coincidently where the largest percent of the members are and only eight sign up, WHY is that?

Coming from a past and future booth volunteer, I can say that these events are very enjoyable and informative from both sides of the table. Everything from helping people with simple questions about handgun registration or learning about MSP updates from Kilt Guy that I never heard of but make a big impact on when/where you can carry. This is our moment to introduce people to MGO and really let them know what were all about, or even get those folks back that snuck away the past few years (I heard I used to be a member a lot from people walking up to the booth). Things are constantly changing as far as 2A rights go on a state (SBR rulings, acceptable hunting calibers, ect) and federal (import bans, registration, ect.) level. Education and information is what were all about, and when your face to face, as opposed to behind a keyboard, you really can make a difference, and that's why we put the effort into attending these shows.

At least try out one shift. Let us know what was good/bad about the experience. Chances are you will be working next to one of our new BOD members. Its a great opportunity to learn who they are and share ideas or even tell/hear a few good stories. Plenty of spots open!!!

Just a bump for the event, coming up very soon, we could still use help! Friday first shift- Saturday first shift in particluar, this is a chance for forum members to earn a full MGO membership by working 1 -4hr shift, more shift's will earn other options, like Gun of the Year drawing enty's.
More important it is a chance to see what MGO does in public and to be a part of that action.
Don't let the look of a full roster keep you from volunteering, we will make room for everybody who wants in!

Bump, it is this weekend Guy's, we could really use some help on Friday for the 5-9 shift, as a reminder, forum members the first shift you work earns you a 1yr. MGO membership.
more shift's worked go into entry's for the Gun of the Year, goes for paid MGO members as well.

Is that the same spot as for the last couple of years?

I know that I have a commitment for the day on Sunday (Appleseed).

I am still waiting on info for Fri/Sat. I might not find out until late Thursday, too late to post....

Another great, fun woods & water weekend, a GIANT thanks to the MGO volunteers who stepped to work extra shifts for set-up and to man the booth for the rest of the weekend, hot as heck and then have storms come in and almost blow the tent away! what a way to start the show!

I hope everybody liked the new setup, I thought it was a good elevotion in the process to try and do something better each time wih the booth.

I personally had the pleasure to not only to work with members I have not worked with before ( thanks for the help John, great meeting & working with you! ) but to meet and talk with many MGO members that stopped by the booth to say hi and I am glad that they got to see what MGO does, what members dues support, proof there is real life, beyond the internet!

Thanks again to all, I had a great time!

W & W is my favorite show to work. Although Friday was brutal weather, Saturday was perfect so it was worth the storm and heat. Had a great time!
