MGO at the Outdoorama 2015, Feb 26~Mar 1

It's that time of the year again! come on out to the Outdoorama- stop by and say hello at booth 5523, all the way to the back of the room, right by the Dog obstacle course.

-Please check this thread often, it will be updated as things change-

It is that time of the year again to call for volunteers, since many members have worked events for MGO, I will not drag out the post, If you are new to MGO or have not worked a event before and want to volunteer or want more information feel free to pm me with any questions you might have.

Forum users this is a great opportunity to volunteer and support Michigan Gun Owners and earn a 1yr. paid membership at the same time!

This event earns volunteers shift credits, MGO member Shift credits earned can be used as entry's for the MGO Gun of the year drawing, extending existing membership or gift memberships.

A big Thank You to all that helped out last year, all of you did a great job!

Here is a show plan on where to enter the building and to aid in locating the MGO booth, it is in the same spot as last year, the booth # is 5523. OUT14 booth loc..pdf (http://www.migunowners.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=24685&d=1390105165)

Directions to the Suburban Collection Showplace 29-OUT-map-dir-13.pdf (http://www.migunowners.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=20444&d=1360000737)

As we have done in the past, volunteers are welcome to bring a gun to display while they are working the booth, we will supply gun locks and a cable to anchor them to the table.

As always ALL members of the Board of Directors are on the badge list- just in case any want to drop in the booth ( although most of the BOD have already volunteered )

As usual I will be there for all shifts.

I need 1 person to help with set-up and anybody additional who would like to learn how to set-up the booth are welcome.

Set-up will be Wednesday the 25th, we need be there between 10:30 am~ 11 am, if anybody can make it, but a little later I can work with that, just let me know, I will be there till 6pm.

Thanks everybody, roster updated.
Tom I put you in on Friday shift (5) as I have at least one for the # (2) on Thursday.
Dave I might need you to move from shift (7) to one of the other days if they don't fill in, but we have some time left for others to step up.

Thanks Dave, that would help a lot, as anyone can see we are thin on those days!

Lots of room for volunteers folks, I know it seems like a long way off but it does come up fast + I have a deadline of Feb. 18 to get the names of the booth workers to ShowSpan.

For new volunteers rest assured you will not be alone in the booth, there will be at least one experienced booth worker with you at all times.

For the forum users, the first shift you volunteer for will earn you a one year MGO membership!!

If you are not sure working the booth is for you, I can set up a time for you to come on in and observe the activities for awhile and not have to "work" the booth.

I wont be able to attend this one as our baby is due right around the same time, so our hands will be pretty full. For the apprehensive people, the first time I volunteered for the MGO booth was last years Outdoorama show, and it was a blast. Nothing but good things to say about the experience.

Ok, just a few weeks away !! We are still in need of volunteers, in particular at least one for set-up on Wed. Feb 25th, and the following shifts 1,2,3 and we can still fit people in a few other shifts as well.

No experience necessary, on the job training provided! it is easy & fun! and you get to work with the best people!!

For those who are not sure of if working with the public is for you, again we offer the opportunity to come on out and spend a little time in the booth ( however this will not earn a shift credit, but you don't have to do anything other then show up ) to get a feel of working the booth and experience MGO interacting with the public.

I think the Org. has done all it can to make it easy and rewarding in many ways to volunteer and support it for any event, covering entering into events, parking, refreshments, shift credits for entry into the Gun of the year drawing or gifting / extending memberships, earning a MGO membership for anyone that is not member & volunteers for a full shift & did I say getting to work with great people too!
Alright we have not offered free .22's ;) but seriously what's it going to take?

I know people are out there on the forum by the thousands every day, So tell me where are the volunteers?

To all the past volunteers a very sincere THANK YOU for your efforts!

One last thought, if there is something about Michigan Gun Owners that you object to and it keeps you from volunteering and do not want to make a public post, please pm me and tell me why.

Thank You.

I can do Friday night

Got you on the list.

Now for everybody else who like to volunteer for this event, Please speak up! There is a deadline with the Show promoters of Feb 18, to have the worker's list submitted so time is ticking to get on board with this year's Outdoorama

In addition to the show itself, I really need 1 person to help with set-up on Feb. 25 anybody?

SeeTee
02-17-2015, 11:53 AM
Bump for the Outdoorama, the roster has filled in some, we could use help for set-up, time is open a bit, if you can't be there for the start, we can still fit you in and use your help.

Also we still could use help for shift #1 on Thursday and help on shift #3 on Friday would not hurt.

Tomorrow is the last day to get your names in!!

Coming to the show today. It will be my first time at this event. Was wondering are there any dealers at the show selling firearms? Got an itch that needs to be scratched and would like to kill two birds with one stone. Thanks,John.
