We had better make doubly sure that this is DOA!

The bill may be just titled "amend concealed weapon act to include libraries", but it does A LOT more than that.

By this added subsection, they will make OC in a PFZ illegal! If this gets to Snyder, he would knuckle under and sign it with out even a hard push.

(6) An individual shall not intentionally display or openly carry a pistol on the premises listed in subsection (1)(a) to (i) unless the individual owns the premises described in subsection (1) or is employed or contracted by the owner or other person with control over the premises described in subsection (1), the possession of the pistol is to provide security services for the premises or is otherwise in the scope of the individual's official duties, or the individual is acting with the express written consent of the owner of the premises or an agent of the owner of the premises. This subsection applies beginning March 1, 2015.

It's the exact same bill that Schor introduced in 2013. This one will never see the light of day, just like the last one.

Why isn't there a bill for an enhanced CPL so that there effectively wouldn't be PFZ's for e-CPL holders?

That's not a problem if you don't mind open carry in this state to become prohibited (Read: SB 59) and place preemption on thin ice. Keep in mind, most of the concealed PFZ's (28.425o), are private property and can prohibit carry, open and concealed, if they wish and it doesn't matter who you are or how many special permits/licenses you have. The only thing such legislation will do (e-CPL) if passed, is to entice business owners and management to post signs prohibiting firearms. At that point, what good is the e-CPL anyway?

I don't buy your logic.

But if we're going to change the law we should just end PFZs.
