I got the Vortex Spitfire 1X from Gander Mountain for $275 on sale, shipped and use it on my modified Ruger 10/22 that I use for Steel Challenge. It uses a double ring around the center dot, which is different than the 3X you have. It make for very fast target pickup, as the inner ring just fits around the plates at shooting distances. Also, you don't need to even use the red or green lighting, as the reticle is etched and shows up well in daylight. It's the best optic I've ever had for this type of shooting. If I get another AR, it will have the 3X Spitfire or the Burris equivalent.

Ok, last sat. I got out to the range and sight it in, and It a great sight, A little different that shooting Cross hairs, or mil dot ... The sight picture you have to goto there web site and see what I'm talking about... Other than getting use to the redtical, it holds zero... and I drop it to see..

Nice. I have it's twin brother from another mother.... The Burris AR-332. I think they are virtually identical. I picked up my Burris for $309 before the $100 rebate last winter from Midway. $209 all in. Enjoy. I hear lots of great things about Vortex and Burris at this price point.

I had the evil twin,I ended up with $145 out of pocket after sales, coupon and rebate.I thought it was too heavy with an obtrusive reticle.
I sold it for $185 in 10 minutes on another forum.
It sighted in easy enough though.
