We need Volunteers for the MGO booth at the event, anybody that may have questions about volunteering for this event please just send me a pm.

We had a great crew last year and this year will be no different I am sure, to all of us that survived the Friday storms!!!
We will have good time again this year! hopefully no rain!

I have listed the volunteer needs per shift, if you are new to MGO and want to see what it is all about and the shift roster is full, just let me know and we will find a place for you to spend some time at the booth.

This event earns volunteers that are MGO members a shift credit, to be used for the Gun of the year drawing, membership renewal or gift membership.
Forum members- your first shift credit earns you a 1yr. MGO membership.

Friday the Sept. 11 -Setup time TBD, I could use 1or 2 to help with this, its a good time if you have it to learn the booth set-up

Sorry that I cant make it this year. Kind of got wrapped up with baby and new career (truck driver). Now if only I could find a local company that has better home-time and is 2A friendly. Current company isn't, no matter where they want you sleeping at before your first unload at 6/7am ..... not cool.

And this year is exactly like last year. I won't know what is free time until early in that week.

I don't have an Appleseed scheduled for Sunday this year, but still don't know what is free.

The rain wasn't too bad, I did drive there on Friday rather than walk, and when it was time to leave, there was the MGO field expedient ponchos right at hand.

Just a bump for the thread, coming up soon.

As a refresher, go to the main entrance, there will be a show office tent off to the side, check in there, tell them you are with Michigan Gun Owners, give them your real name & they get you a wrist band to get in-if you are working more then one day be sure to keep the wristband for the next day/s.

Entrance is free for booth workers - parking is free for all.

I have added updated information in the op on the booth location, there is a new layout to the event this year, please look at the .pdf file of the new setup, follow the arrows back to the tent, booth # 476-477

Any volunteer that does not have my cell # for contact, pm me and i will send it to you.

We still need some help with set-up on Friday morning -contact me if you can help.

This event is gun friendly carry as you wish-you may bring a firearm or two to display as we usually do.

For the tap a talk folks- I have pulled out most of color in the op - except for links- let me know if it aids in readability, I have been shown that color text has been hard to read.

I will be wandering around that part of town around 11:00 am on Friday. After I finish up with my wandering, I will stop in. If you have work to do, I can help. I also have just about the rest of the day clear too.

And, for those of you that didn't look at the NEW LAYOUT in the pdf that SeeTee posted earlier, the BIG TENT will be on the SOUTH EDGE of the display areas. It is not located along M-53 as it was in the past.

I have confirmed this visually, the BIG TENT runs east/west along the southern most walk on the south side.

Oh, an additional observation;

The last time 9-11 fell during the weekend, they discouraged OC for that day. I don't know if they will do it again, just be aware that they do have that "right", it is privately owned, but they don't normally say anything about it. Friday is 9-11.

Good point, However, I have spoken with the powers that be at W&W about this very issue they have assured me that it will not be an problem for the 11th.

It was odd that they did it that one time.

The W&W people were talked into doing it that way, it was not their original idea.

I took my two sons to the show this sunday and had the time of our lives. My boys are only 2 and 5 but enjoyed the heck out it. We did the following:
Bought matching viking morale patches
Ate venison sticks, a turkey leg, and an elk burger
Walked the civil war reenactment camp
Saw the chainsaw speed artist whip up an eagle out of a log
Watched the dog jumping competition as some leaped 25+ feet out into the water
Watch guys shoot crossbows with illumi-nocks
Enjoy the copious amounts of camo everything, hunting AR15's, and bows / crossbowslaid about

I was able to meet the guys at the MGO booth. Thanks for volunteering your time!

Well I had a good AAR until the evil computer god's ate it when I hit send! I'll try again! ( post's never get worded the same when that happens)

Another great time at the Woods & Water Weekend, this year we had a lot less of the WATER factor, just enough light rain to drive people into the tent on Saturday, A good thing for Venders!!

Lot's of thanks to go around to the many people that contributed to Michigan Gun Owners Success for the event, I may miss some and have them in not a particular order of importance but hear goes.

The volunteer's, both at the event and behind the scene's that made it happen we can't do it without them, You guy's know how much I personally appreciate all the help that you give me to make my job possible / easier, My thanks again to you!!

Special shout out to Thomas and Drew, MGO members that volunteered to work the event for the first time and did a great job! I would be glad to have you back at any event.

A big thinks to the people that stopped by the booth, we enjoyed meeting and talking with you and the encouragement you gave us to keeping doing what we are doing,
especially those of you that renewed membership and those that signed up for the first time to help us continue on.

Please if you had stopped by the booth, take the time to register ( it's free ) tell us you saw us there and keep up with us and come on out to other events.

To keep up with our event schedule just keeping checking into this forum section!

I'll second the good to meet you Steve, always a pleasure to meet members at a show and check out their booth and to a new signed up member Jordan with a booth there, good to meet you too! I hate to hear that I missed somebody after the show is over.

I had a lot of fun at the show, I hope everybody else did too!!

For the people that could not get into the show due to the loong line of cars, start early next year ;) !
