The Introduction to Intermediate Force Course (Formerly the Less Lethal Defensive Options Course) is designed for the responsible citizen who desires to add tools and techniques to their self-defense tool kit that focus on situations existing outside the lethal force level.

This course is tailored to give students the skills to deal with an assaultive encounter through the use of unarmed and less-lethal options all the way to the conclusion of the incident.

The Introduction to Intermediate Force Course DOES NOT require any martial arts background and will be taught in a linear fashion that anyone can follow. The curriculum is based on current basic training given to law enforcement officers.

This course is physically demanding, but you will only be asked to do what you can. This class DOES NOT require the student to be exposed to pepper spray. Students MAY volunteer to experience a pepper spray hit to further understand the effects. (contact MDFI staff via email for more information/requirements)
