2nd MGO Sponsored CPL Class on 11/8/2015 at Williams in Davison Michigan

The MGO Board of Directors are pleased to announce the second Michigan Gun Owners Sponsored CPL Class.

The Class will be held on November 8th, starting time TBD.

The Class will be taught by MGO Member and NRA Instructor Jerold Garland with assistance from MGO Board Members and MGO RSO's. MGO Member and Attorney, James Makowski will be teaching the Legal Portion.

This Class will be limited to 20 students, ten spots to be sold to MGO members, the other 10 spots are being reserved to be sold at the MGO booth at the Womens Expo in Birch Run on October 24th & 25th. Any spots left unsold from the Birch Run Show will be offered to MGO members who follow the instructions listed below:

Student applicants must complete a Pre-Course Interview with Instructor Jerold Garland. Jerold can be reached at 734-308-8636 between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
After completing this interview you will be instructed to submit a $50.00 returnable Check to hold your spot in Class to:

Do not submit your check until told to do so by Jerold Garland. You must pass the Pre-Course Interview before mailing your check.

The cost of this Class will be $20.00 for MGO members who sign up on the forums. The cost for non-members who sign up at the Birch Run Women’s Expo will be $75.00. This fee will be used to cover Classroom Materials as well as Range time.

Rental Guns & Ammo are the responsibility of the student.

All of the Instructors, RSO's and everyone helping out with this class are donating their time at no cost to MGO.

Classroom and Range portion will take place at Williams Gun Sight in Davison.

Best to call the instructor for more detailed information as instructed in this thread.

The post in the members only section talks about the proposal to do the class that passed, the link above is to post #25 ( that doesn't seem to work ) in that thread lists only the instructor's phone #.

So again this thread that we are in now is the only thread that I can find with the best information, hope this helps.


eta, sometimes when someone with different permissions views a post and then posts a link, it doesn't always follow that others can view it, I had a similar issue with a cut & paste that I did, I could view it just fine, because I had moderator permissions, but others could not, I had to rewrite the post.

Sorry I haven't been on this post. As of right now the start time remains at 0900 sharp. All students will receive a email from me by close of business on friday with a follow up on all details. And yes I'm waiting for Williams to call me back with a possible 0800 start time.

As of 20:07 all 12 registered students where sent a email with class details. If any changes to time are made students and RSO's will be notified by 1700 on Friday the 6th. If anyone has questions or concerns please contact me @734-308-8636. Also if your planning on helping me the day class As A RSO I need your NRA# please. Again send all info to my cell.

Just confirmed that we can start at 0800. So I would like all who are coming to show up at 0745. The Range portion won't be tell around 1500. And all the students I've got registered will receive this info as well.

I thought the class was great, everyone who spoke was knowledgeable and helpful and the RSO's were all great too. It was wonderful of everyone to volunteer their time. I'm not sure I could have taken a better class!
I know the range part got a little sticky, but that was no fault of the organizers. It still worked out ok in the end.
I applied for my CPL on Friday!
