This looks to be an exact twin to SB 666. It looks like some one wants to push this crap through.

Uh.. not feeling warm fuzzies here.. I get what they are trying to do, but it sure does put a lot of burden on the firearm owner; what about home defense weapons? I mean, having to have the firearm ITSELF locked, and then locked in a secure case.... no way you're getting access to that firearm in a reasonable amount of time in order to defend yourself.

At least they put in a subsection regarding minors use of self defense. But it doesnt make the rest of the bill good by any means.

NO!

I believe that this proposed law violates Heller. And they should not be making these legislative demands.

Recommending a decent safe or lock-box, under the right circumstances is commendable. Doing so in this thread is inappropriate.

Wasn't there a 12 or 13 year old young lady that used her dads trusty 12 gauge to protect herself from armed home invaders and probably rape a few years back? So this will no longer be acceptable.

There is an exception in the law for that
It happened last January
She was 11 at the time
It was her own shotgun

Many in this County work hard to teach them early an properly.

You could spend your whole day looking up instances where kids and teens have had to use mom/dad's guns to defend life/limb.
This will make that impossible.
for their own good.
