Outdoorama 2016!

Please check this thread often, it will be updated as things change- Note-corrected broken links to booth location .pdf and also directions to the Novi Showplace .pdf

It is that time of the year again to call for volunteers, since many members have worked events for MGO, I will not drag out the post, If you are new to MGO or have not worked a event before and want to volunteer or want more information feel free to pm me with any questions you might have.

Forum users this is a great opportunity to volunteer and support Michigan Gun Owners and earn a 1yr. paid membership at the same time!

This event earns volunteers shift credits, MGO member Shift credits earned can be used as entry's for the MGO Gun of the year drawing, extending existing membership or gift memberships.

A big Thank You to all that helped out last year, all of you did a great job!

Here is a show plan on where to enter the building and to aid in locating the MGO booth, it is in the same spot as last year, the booth # is 5523. 41775 (http://www.migunowners.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=24685&d=1390105165)

Directions to the Suburban Collection Showplace 41776 (http://www.migunowners.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=20444&d=1360000737)

As we have done in the past, volunteers are welcome to bring a gun to display while they are working the booth, we will supply gun locks and a cable to anchor them to the table.

Just a note, don't let the list of volunteers taking shifts keep anyone from volunteering, we can find a place for you!!

I need at least 1 person to help with set-up and anybody additional who would like to learn how to set-up the booth are welcome.

Set-up will be Wednesday the 24, we need be there between 9:00~9:15, if anybody can make it, but a little later I can work with that, just let me know, I will be there till 6pm at least, come in overhead door #9 and the MGO booth will be straight ahead

Myself and Deb will be there for shift (5), and Dorothy will probably (but not for sure yet)
I will be there for (7) and (8 ) maybe Deb too, but not for sure.
Dorothy and Shawn are planning on being there (9) and (10) Deb and I may show up too, but it may be just to walk around - we probably don't need 6 in the booth on a sunday.

Just a few updates in the op, I have added locations that have a limited number of 2 for one coupons good any day of the show, along with a $2 off weekday coupon you can copy and print off.

We also still need help with set-up on Wednesday Feb. 24th.

And we need help with shift 1-Thursday the 25th. shift 3,4-on Friday the 26th. in particular.

Please post or pm me if you can help out, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Note, no experience necessary to volunteer, all new volunteers will be working with an experienced hand at this, so have no fear of not knowing what to do or working alone.

Forum users can earn a full MGO membership by working this event.

Coming up soon! we can still use help for shift's 1-3-4 and an extra for setup would not hurt!

I have never turned away a volunteer & We have never had too many!

In addition as a reminder there are 2 for 1 discount tickets available at a few of the gun shops / ranges in the metro area, listed at the bottom the op - also a printable $2 off for weekday admission.

I will also have a few of the 2 for 1 tickets at the Feb. 20th BOD meeting & drawing.

I need to turn in the badge list to ShowSpan by Feb. 15 so don't wait too long to decide to volunteer, you will have a great time if you do and earn shift credit / s too!

I sure would like to add names to the list that gets turned in tomorrow!

This event is a great opportunity on many level's, earn a 1yr. membership for volunteering, see first hand what we do and how we interact with the public, work with some of the best people of the Michigan Gun Owners organization ( it's a great time to get to know people by working along side them ) Support gun education, safety and rights, this is an election year we need to reach out to the public on issues, this show has great attendance it's a good way to reach a lot of people in one place!

Step back from the keyboard, get out of the house, get some exercise walking around and enjoy the show, have some fun and spend some time in the booth!

Who will step up for the cause and add there name to the roster?

Any questions please pm me.

If anybody does not have my cell # pm me.

If any body can't make it and know now, please pm me and let me know, I will understand if you can't make it, just let me know so I can plan for it.

Will we have access to electricity at the booth? Also the pdf for booth directions is broke.

SeeTee
02-22-2016, 10:02 AM
Hi Jim,

Yes we have electricity at the booth, anything special you need? and I just checked both .pdf's GTG there was a problem awhile back but that was fixed.

fyi, the check-in and booth location is the same as the last time you were there.

Kaeto
02-22-2016, 01:34 PM
I was wondering if I'd be able to use my nebulizer for a scheduled medicine treatment, and since we have power at the booth it won't be a problem.

I download the booth directions but it keeps coming up broken and unable to be opened. I wanted to double check the procedure to get the badge.

SeeTee
02-22-2016, 02:24 PM
no problem i'll have power easy accessible.

the link works for me, but I will logout and check it, might have something to do with my permissions, thanks for letting me know, at the worst pm me an email & I will send you the .pdf.

update, I just logged out and came in as a nobody and the links work fine, gives you two options to save or open with whatever .pdf viewer you have on your machine.

but it didn't work for you so get me an email address & I will send it to you.

If anybody else has a problem viewing the .pdf let me know.

also I use Foxit reader it's free and is much better then Adobie link -- https://www.foxitsoftware.com/

See Tee is the hardest working gent at these things.
Working on Sunday with four others, said he needed to eat lunch. See Tee sits down to eat his sandwich and
within a minute is pitching people on membership. I don't know if he ever got to finish his
sandwich. That man never sits still and is always promoting!
He is one of the unsung hero's of MGO.
