What do you think would be a very good scope for my AR ? Plan just to mostly shoot paper in my back yard out to about 300 yards and maybe some coyote hunting . Was thinking about the Nikon 3x9x40 P223 ? What's you thoughts of this scope for what I plan on doing ?

I just put a Nikon 3X32 scope on my Ruger AR. with Nikon 223 mounts. I have not had a chance to zero it in yet, but I like it so far. Walmart had a sale $117 for the scope Cabelas had a sale $119. I think after Christmas you might be able to get a Nikon variable power scope for a good price.

I have the Nikon M223 4 to 16 power mounted on my Remington AR and love it.

If you're going out to 300 yards and group size is important, I'd consider something with a bit more power than 3-9.

Ditto on the scope, but mine is mounted to a Ruger SR-556. Great scope!

Redfield revolution 4-12 is not a bad budget option. Get one at a gander mountain for a decent deal with one of those 30% off coupons.

I just put a 2-7 Burris E1 on mine. I got one for $119 from Midway. So far I like it, but it is not for shooting tiny groups at 300 yd. It should be sufficient for coyote for reasonable field shooting conditions.
