Then why can't you use it during deer seasons? I thought the whole point of no rifles down South is so you don't sent a hi powered rilfe bullet through someone's house?

Or do they limit it to varmint cartridges only during that season?

I think it is about the amount of people they think are in the woods during deer deason as apposed to any other. I hunt with a rifle for coyote down here.

It must also be a straight-wall case. No TCs with necked-case rifle chambers...

I prefer to use a handgun in the shotgun zones. A S&W or Ruger .44mag in the 6"-7.5" variety will work great. If you are picky about your guns, get stainless so you don't have to worry about damaging the finish.

So, technically, a .45-70 or a .444 Marlin would be a "go"? :upto:

Used to be...I haven't noticed anything like an OAL limit, but I'd want to double check the regs before I did, just to be sure.
