I have recently purchased a .450 Bushmaster upper and I am looking to put a scope on it. I don't have a fortune to put into this. It is a "recycling" project. I am selling off guns I no longer use to fund this.
I am leaning towards a Bushnell Elite 3500 3-9X40mm. My eyes are not what there were when I was 18, SO, a scope is a must. I am a fan of the 3X9.
I am wondering how that Bushnell compares to the same price range Vortex, Burris, etc. It seems a bit brighter, at least in the store, but it is hard to tell while indoors. I am also wondering if anyone has any experience with the "Firefly" reticle Bushnell offers. Specifically, is the finer cross hair usable when it is not lit up?
I don't believe I have a need for any of the "ballistic" reticles. I don't see where I will ever be shooting beyond 200 yards, or so, and most of the time, under 100.
