Looking for suggestions for a scope for a Savage MK2 fvsr.......mainly plinking around with it and some small game hunting. Price point is probably around a couple hundred tops.

Can't go wrong with Leupolds "Rimfire Special" line, 4X or 2-7X. Sized and parallax set for .22's.

Use this on my Ruger 10-22 target heavy barrel http://www.amazon.com/Mueller-Tactical-Rifle-Scope-8-5-25/dp/B000GT857U

and this on my Ruger 10-22 carbine http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0039O3JPM/ref=psdc_3226124011_t2_B000GT857U

Got this Ruger American " Predator 22LR " a few months ago, need some warm weather as I have not shot this yet .http://www.ruger.com/products/americanRimfire/specSheets/8334.html https://www.getsomeguns.com/p-70629-rug-8334-amer-rf-tp-22lr-18-tap-odg.aspx
and put a 4-16 x 40 on it, all are Mil-dot . All these take the same Ruger mags.

Weaver Classic rimfire series are some very nice scopes at a reasonable price. I have a few of them (2x7 -3x9) and prefer them to my 1 (one) Nikon rimfire a 3x9. I've a old Simmons 3x9 22 mag that falls into the back of the closet when compared to the Weavers too.

Well I have the FV and I can tell you if your's shoots like mine, you are going to want a decent scope. I am running a 4-14 Nikon with a mildot on mine. Most fun with this rifle is shooting paintballs at 100y. I have taken it out to 200y and having the mil reticle was a must for wind holds. Take a look at the Burris, Vortex, Nikon, and Bushnell models.
