(i) The individual is not listed on the consolidated terrorist
watch list maintained by the Terrorist Screening Center
administered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

'Consolidated'???

Any idea why she replaced the word "person" with "individual" so many times? Is this some new PC nonsense I'm not aware of? Or is this supposed to be camouflage for her real intent of adding the watch list members to the prohibited person list....sorry "individual".

The so-called terrorist watch list has grown into a ridiculous thing. Best current estimates have more than a million people on the list, mostly US citizens.

REALLY??!! We have a million plus terrorist suspects in the US???

https://www.aclu.org/terror-watch-list-counter-million-plus

And regarding due process, it's pretty obscure how one gets on the list, but we know it's easy. And if you are unfortunate enough to get on the list by accident (maybe your name is very similar to a legitimate bad guy), there is no reliable method to get back off the list.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/12/15/one-woman-s-case-proves-it-s-basically-impossible-to-get-off-the-no-fly-list.html

So yeah, we're just violating the rights of thousands, and tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands, and now maybe millions of peoples' constitutional rights to due process.

George Orwell would be so proud, or so horrified...

That's likely the LSB cleaning up old language.

Agreed!

Since "corporations" can be "persons" and are afforded the same rights, it looks like they are switching to "individual" to avoid that situation.

As far as this bill goes, what else do you expect from the good SENATOR REBEKAH WARREN?
