Any recommendations for .308 Win hunting ammo in 16-18" rifles? I have a Rem 700 and noticed Federal has a Fusion MSR cartridge with powder designed to burn more completely in a shorter barrel. Anyone know of any others and perhaps have recommendations?

That would be the only 308 ammo that I know of that is designed for a short barrel. Your only other option is to reload I would say.

Hornady Superformance 165gr SST works great in my 18" M1A. Will be hunting with it this year so I can't attest to actual knock down power yet but I don't see there being any problems.

I killed two hogs down in Texas last spring with Hornady American Whitetail 150 grain. I used my 16" Ruger Gunsite Scout rifle to drop the hammer on the hogs. That ammo produces about 2.5" groups at 50 yards with open sights for me in a dimly lit indoor range. 423564235742358
