Any suggestions for a safe I could use in my 2nd Floor apartment? I'm in the corner of the building.

I'd like it to be fire rated if possible for some sort of protection. Requires space for 8+ rifles and 7 handguns at the current moment.

Good luck. Not a lot of real options. Anything you buy at a box store is garbage. It helps if they are walled in, but not much. Watch this.

I understand I'm not going to be able to get something 1-2hr, 800+lbs need 5 guys and winches kind of safe, lol. I'm going with the "better than Stack-On Cabinet" type of safe to provide at least SOME deterrent/time delay/protection for my current location.

Isn't snapsafe at least 1 hr @ 2300, and it takes 1 person to get it set up?

Weight is a factor for use in unknown structure.

Just looked up the smallest one. It's 375 lbs... I would think that an apt floor would hold that, but asking maintenance would probably be smart.

Check your rent/lease agreement before moving forward about having guns on premises.

With due respect... Move.

There is surely housing available that fits your needs more closely.

You take care of my wife and my student loans and i'll look into it. Meanwhile I rent because it's cheaper in practically every way.

I get it! Been there too. I didn't run out and buy a house. I merely suggested there may be housing (apartment on the ground floor, single family home, condo or something else) that you could move to without breaking the bank. ie: same rent but ground floor access or other amenity you would like.

Being ground floor would be less secure do to access opportunities. I've been thinking a safe a around/under 400lbs and put it up against the corner outer walls.
