Education; safety; school lockdown drills; require reporting of. Amends sec. 19 of 1941 PA 207 (MCL 29.19).

Nothing really bad is this bill. You'll see that ".........or the presence of a potentially dangerous individual on or near the premises." is one the reasons for a authorized "lockdown".

There is nothing in the bill at all. It is just about the reporting for having conducted the drills. Nothing else changes.

The whole concept of "lockdown", in my opinion, is wrong.

If the issue is OUTSIDE the school, then yes, prevent anyone from entering the school.

If they have already entered, maybe not trap the potential victims inside?

Agreed. Some schools here use ALICE Ttheory. No more shelter in or move as group. More like get out, fight if you have to. Very awesome.
