I have an Aimpont but would like to add a QD option for other reticle with magnification.
The Burris MTAC looks decent but the reticle is a little 'busy.'
not opposed to a ballistic plex style, just want something easy to pick up the target with at 100-300 yards.
Any suggestions pro or con for similar optics min the 1-4 or 1-6x range?

I've really liked my Vortex Strike eagle 1-6x. 1x is like a red dot and 6x is very useful for longer range. The optics are clear. The reticle holdovers work for my 77gr load on steel plates. I'm very happy with it and think it's a deal for the price.

I got the sheriff to put the MTAC optics on our payroll rifles when I was out on Nebraska. They worked great! The reticle was dead on out to 500y with the one for 12x12 plates with the 75g bullets with us running TAPs

Thx - I do like the strike eagle reticle.
Might get one of these 2 choices and give it a try.

I've been in the market for a reasonably inexpensive an illuminated 1-6x24 scope for the past couple weeks. I narrowed my search down to these two:

Vortex Strike Eagle: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00S2P2KKS/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=NNIG3EDVTZ74&coliid=I3UQPT3WDSJK09

Primary Arms ACSS: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OMA48Q6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=NNIG3EDVTZ74&coliid=IABBE6DML1LS1

From what I gathered, neither is much better than the other. Most people say to buy whichever one has the reticle that you like better. After much deliberation, I decided to go with Vortex for two reasons. 1) It has a better (lifetime) warranty, and 2) I don't need to 'busy' reticle of the ACSS for my purposes. Although I do plan to sell my Nikon scope from one of my 300BLK rifles and pick up the ACSS for that rifle. I think it would make a great hunting scope.
