Looking to purchase this scope
http://www.opticsplanet.com/vortex-crossfire-ii-1-4x24mm-riflescope.html

I need a mount that will position this above my front A frame sight.

Any help is much appreciated.

To clarify, I am buying the above scope for an AR 15 that has a fixed front sight. I need help finding the correct mount that will position the scope above the sight.

I'm a rookie, but I have a burris PEPR with a burris 2-7 x 35 BDC, and it clears the front sight post. Well it ghosts a bit, but not enough to bother with. I'd rather have that FSB solid as a rock, with a METAL sight behind it
I'll ship the mount for $56.80, which covers my cost plus shipping unless you have things to trade, add a "C" note for the scope too

ETA, it will not clear the FSB, but you will see thru it. YMMV

I appreciate the offer. I have my heart set in the vortex though.

you wont even see the front post on 2-3-4 zoom only on 1x but if you shoot with both eyes open you wont see it.

I was not aware of that. I'm extremely inexperienced with optics

I should have made myself more clear. You won't see it at higher Manification

The price I offered on the mount is cheaper than retail IIRC. And It's on a weapon/firearm

There isn't one.

S_itcan that idea and do it correctly.

I have a Matech Flip up sight under the Burris 2-7 x 35 in the Burris PEPR with the FSB. It works well.

Take the scope off and run the irons, or put the scope back on.
A QD mount would make the transition smoother though.

I only buy Burris , Leupold or Vortex scopes. All 3 manufacturers have a no BS warranty

I have the very same scope on my AR, and use a Burris P.E.P.R mount. As others have said, at 1X, the front sight ghosts a little in the lower third, but does not in any way interfere with the sight picture. At greater than 1X, it disappears completely. The mount works great for me.

Thanks for all of the responses. I ended up ordering a weaver brand cantilever mount that looks very similar to the PEPR for $46 from optics planet

So this is currently being done to thousands of A4 service rifles for CMP & NRA HiPower competition.

The ideal height is 1.3-1.38" from the rail to scope C/L. For those who wish to keep the standard FSB we remove the post and all is good with most any scope mount. There are a few mounts right now that are hitting the market that are top quality and fit the bill.

1) Keystone Accuracy - $190
2) Geiselle Automatics - $350
3) Nightforce - $?

I have been using a YHM 6" rail with Vortex low (.88 rings which puts me at 1.38".

I currently run a modified VXR on above mount system on my A4 and have a Vortex as you listed above on the same mount as my A4 on my rimfire upper.

I just purchased one of these, that's why the PEPR is available

http://www.primaryarms.com/b03-200-254/p/b03-200-254/

I can't use my A1 handguards in service rifle class, so "F" it, yet it was one of the first "Service Rifle's" out there. Yet you can use scopes on a flat top.

Things that make you go hmmm

'Splain that BS to me, Lucy.

The CMP stopped making sense a year or two ago....

I have a 4-12x on my AR, with a fixed front post sight. I can see the post on 4x, but it is not opaque (I can still see through it) and it is not even noticeable above 6x. It in no way hinders target acquisition or shooting.
