View Full Version : Fun Shoot at Advance Ranges, Burton

UTPD#5
01-28-2009, 05:35 PM
MGO has scheduled a fun shoot on Saturday, March 21 from 6pm-9pm
at Advanced Ranges in Burton, MI.

http://www.advancedranges.net/

1096 N. Center Road, Burton, MI 48509, 810-715-2000

What is known at this time is FMJ ammo only, 44mag or less. Pistol Caliber Carbines are welcome.

MGO is covering the range fee for the event, so show up visit and shoot some paper. Costs for ammo are listed further in the thread by TFin04.

Most of our fun shoots involve visiting, desert dishes to pass and an overly contagious urge to buy new firearms.

I am not familiar with the area where the range is, but, we may want to consider a "dinner" prior to the shooting event at a local eatery.

Feel free to ad hoc a dinner in the thread if the masses can agree.

Maybe I'll go to this since it is local. I wonder if LEO discounts apply to active duty military. I know when I was stationed in Oklahoma we got unlimited range time for the day for $5...that was nice!

$12.75 for 50 rounds of .40 S&W doesn't seem too bad either. About what Wal-Mart charges.

What age limits for hand guns or are there any ?

RSF
03-02-2009, 01:38 PM
there is no age limit as long as the parent or legal guardian is there in the booth shooting with the minor or in close proximity

Is there a limit on calibers? I wouldn't mind bringing up my Romak-3 and fire some x54r if it's allowed.

TFin04

Handgun only calibers up to 44 mag at this point. Pistol caliber carbines are fine.

Are you saying it is free range time and the only thing we have to buy is ammo or if we bring our own ammo there is no cost period?

I live in Grand Blanc right near Burton. Only been here since July, but I may be able to help.

In Flint Township by the Genessee Valley Mall there are a lot of sit down restaurants on Miller Rd.

If you want the best greasy burger and fries....Halo Burger at Center Rd/Court St can't be beat. You can see the range from the parking lot. Don't say I didn't warn you though...

starlight is really good. the olympic is also really good. both are less than a mile away from the range. both serve your everyday american food. nothing crazy or expensive. there is a new mexican restuarant in grand blanc that is excellent, but i cant think of the name of it. there is also rio's on davison rd. about 2 miles from the range.

Give me a place and time and I'll try to be there. I may have to catch the morning "red eye" but I'll try.

I'll also be bringing some MGO merchandise (hats, cups, etc.) for sale as well as taking memberships. Hope to meet a lot of you there.

I'm down. I like the French Laundry in Fenton, although I'm not sure how close that is to the range. And expensive!

I don't go to Flint much so I don't know what the local eateries are.

right off I75, miller road exit......

there is a good tex/mex place...Don Pablos.... if you are exiting from heading north, it's in the right hand side. You can see it as you are getting off on the exit. Good food and ok prices... They have large booths, and also an area where they can join up tables for larger groups....

just a suggestion
