I got a handgun from a friend that had the slide plated with E nickel (electroless Nickel). Its a matte finish and I think it looks good, but some of my friends say a glock is meant to be black. Whatever.....Anyways, I want to know how to maintain this plating. Do I get some protective wax to protect from scratches and sweat from my hand? I have read about using renaissance wax, but I cant tell if it only used for bright finishes.

I just have no idea what to do to maintain this type of finish.

White polishes will remove scratches and buff it to a shine, blue will only shine. So if you want to keep it protected, just use the blue polishes. You should probably be able to use something once a month if you shoot alot or have acidic like sweat.

Other then that normal maintenance of cleaning and oiling is about the normal for maintenance.

The frame is Cerakote Demon Blue, an air cure color. I can do polymer frames this way.
