All you wonderful experts,

My daughter has shown real talent at 14 shooting 500 yards plus. I am building her a custom gun in 6.5 creed for distance shooting, but I dont want to spend 1K on optics until she shoots for a while. What do you guys recommend in the 300 to 500 dollar range?

Thanks
Eric

Vortex HST 4-16 x 44 would work. Cabelas had a few factory repairs with lifetime warranty for $414 a while back.

I use one on my prone rifle for mid range competition any sight. No issue @ 600 with the 0.15 MOA thick strata of the reticle.

Eric call me. I just became an Athlon dealer and they have some fantastic scopes with tons of excellent features. The Athlon Argos 6-24x50 is an FFP Mil or MOA with illumination that is comparable in many ways to the Vortex PST except with no zero stop. I can get you one for near dealer pricing since you have been such a good customer. :brow:

I'm a big fan of Vortex and use several myself. I'd also recommend taking a look at Primary Arms offerings in that range. Their 4X14X44 FFP is a pretty darn nice scope for $225 bucks. Avail in both MOA and MIL-DOT.

For the price point, it does well.

Ive been searching for optics pretty hard as well. There are jut so many options now, and a new 6.5 deserves a new optic. I planned on just throwing an old mark4 on there but it feels wrong. My rifle comes in tomorrow and it will be naked.

Got to shoot my Athlon Helos FFP 6-25x50 all the way out to 1K at Youngs last weekend. Repeated hits at distance on steel with my .260 Remington. Hell of a nice scope for under $600.

Are you a stocking dealer? I've been looking at some of their mid-high end optics but from a new name in the biz I am cautious without getting hands on

Yeah Dan but it wasn't like Todd's Tangent Theta scope!! I bought a few of his Kahles scopes also have a couple Schmidt & Bender's. Buy once cry once can't go wrong with great high end glass if it fits the budget!!

Yes I am a stocking dealer but I don't carry much yet. I can get them fast and for great prices. I agree Tim! That Target is bad ass!!!
