UTPD#5
03-03-2009, 09:16 AM
July 18, 2009 at the Buckner Farm in Howell.

We have a block of 10 rooms (2 Queen N/S) for 7/17 and 7/18 (they will honor the rate for the 16th and 19th as well) for members...rate at $89.99 per night ($30.00 Discount per night from regular rate)...at Holiday Inn Express in Howell at M-59 and I-96. This is about 10 miles or so from the farm.

EVENT / GROUP CODE IS MGO. Hotel is at 1397 N. Burkart, Howell, MI 48855 517-548-0100

The cut off for rooms will be June 27, 2009. Plenty of places to eat locally and this hotel is next door to the Tanger Outlet Mall in Howell, an antique mall is near as well.

Also, Buckner has told me that people can camp at his place, but, you'll need to arrange for "bathroom" facilities. LOL Plenty of room at the farm he says!

There will likely be porta johns at the annual meeting, so just think of shower and such.

***UPDATES WILL BE ADDED AS THEY OCCUR***

?? Is this a shoot, or just everyone getting together for a pig roast and some strippers? Don't misunderstand, I'm in either way, but I should know if I am to bring guns. :)

Annual meeting of the membership to vote in new trustees and the like.

We had a big picnic last year with burger and dogs...salads etc.

This year a Pig Roast is being planned.

We did some shooting last year with a friendly competition, Jeff from LGC brought out some pins and tables for shooting. So yes, we shoot as well.

We just can't shoot the large brown objects that wonder around munching on the grass. LOL

Don't plan on any strippers! Sorry.

STRIPPERS!!!!!

Well, count me in. Would it help for me to pick up a bunch of bowling pins from a place in Kalamazoo? they're only $1 each so if you'd like, I can just buy a bunch and bring them out.

HMMM...Jeff brought some last year, but, if you are down that way, I wouldn't mind a few for my place up north, say 15 or 20. Again, only if it is an easy task.

Just called them to see how many they have in stock, I guess they're out. There's another place around there that has them, I think they are $1.50 each. Are you still interested?

That is my goal...everything seems to work well that way.

As we get closer, I will start a list like year so we can have an idea of the menu.

That cranberry dish you made at Christmas was to die for, can you send me the recipe?

Uhh...well...the short answer is...NO! LOL

The range is set for about a 10-20 yard max for the handguns. I know that we have shot farther than that with rifles, but, then comes into play the whole safety thing with that many people there.

Well, I was thinking of making the cranberry relish to bring to the picnic like I did last year. I'll have to write the recipe down when I remember. At Christmas I made the cranberry sauce meatballs if that is what you are talking about, I can send you the recipe for that. I also made a cherry/raspberry pie.

If any of you are interested, the morning after the shoot there is a 3 gun shoot at Spectacle lake outdoor club (http://www.sloc10.com/home.htm). From Howell, I think Google maps said it was 1 hr 12 min. Shooting starts at 10 AM!

With luck, the wife and kids will be visiting her mother in Hawaii for two weeks.

Think I'll be doing a lot of shooting during that time, and cleaning my guns indoors!!! Hoppes - the only REAL air freshener.........:naughty:
