About a week ago I got a Tapco G2 FCG in the mail. I installed it and took it to the range today. The problem is I will shoot a round off and the gun will cycle the next round, BUT the hammer doesn't go far enough down to lock into the hook on the trigger. But if I pull the bolt handle back, it will connect with the trigger.

I know you guys on this forum are awesome with gun problems, so I am asking if you guys know what's going on/ how to fix the problem.

I am also posting a reward for any help on the problem: That's right, I will send you an E-Card thanking you for your help!!! ;-)

Check this:

Best guess without seeing it is that hammer spring is reversed or "hooks" are not seated correctly over rear legs. Also, make the disconnector spring (part B in tutorial) is present and seated properly.
Take a deep breath, relax , and look at tutorial closely. :)

Probably installed wrong. So the hammer is following the bolt back? Get that fixed pronto...slamfires are not a good thing.

Without seeing it my first two guesses are an issue with the disconnector (A & B in the above picture) or a recoil buffer causing issue. Is there a plastic or rubber buffer on your mainspring where it hooks into the rear of the receiver?

Edit- I see you're from Grand Blanc. Bring it up to Advanced on a Tuesday or Thursday and I can probably sort it out for you.

wombat12, thank you so much!!!!! As it turns out, I did NOT have a disconecter spring installed. A spring didn't come with the new trigger set, so I figured I didn't need one. But thank you wombat12 for pointing in out. And I do see that Tfin also realized the same thing. So Thank you as well Tfin. You are both getting e-cards!!
