Definitely not enough. I was just browsing ammo at Cabela's online. They sure aren't giving it away (of course I already knew that)!

Enough to be described as an arsenal in the liberal news. Realistically enough for a few good trips to the range.

Well, I thought I had a lot, till I saw the part about excluding .22... So I guess I have a couple hundred rounds between my 8mm and shotgun. As most have said, a couple hours of fun with the shotgun and a couple trips to the range with the 8mm... Probably not nearly enough though….

three years ago I bought a bunch (10k) of NIB when I was told it would go up 15-20%.
Best ammo buy I ever made:lolup:

On edit: I should have bought more!!

How much do you have on hand? Why, are you planning on burglarizing some homes, and want to know where the largest ammo caches are? :)

Exactly 6 rounds of .38 Special. Garyjt has convinced me that I could never need anything more than that if I'm a good shot, only psycho-killers would own more. :)

Someone posted on the CMP forums that they witnessed a fella purchasing $7,000 worth of the greek surplus 30-06 ammo the last day before they shut down for two weeks. (Last week). That's 100 spam cans with 246 in each can. That's a grand total of just over 24K rounds.

For me... I am working on getting 1K of each caliber I have excluding my 30-30 rifle and .38 special.

I would love to have on hand at all times, 2k of 9mm, 500 of .38 special, and 2k of 30-06. I am holding off on buying a .40 or .45 caliber pistol until I hit these goals so I can concentrate on gathering ammo for just that one caliber.

Let's just say I am working toward that goal.

When your ammo guy says it is going from $5 a box to $7.50 after that order.
And you've been shooting 200-500 rds per week. If you believe him you buy big.

for a dedicated, regular shooter 10k is not unusual. It's cost efficient.

I'm not a tinfoil hat guy but damn....posting about your personal ammo depot?

Everyone hates it when the government wants info about their guns (registration) yet you freely post personal info like this on the internet in an open forum?

I love how some people voice their disgust about the hand gun registry yet post a full list of their guns in their signature line.

Pretty damn dumb if you ask me.

Ya gotta get that boat fixed!:boat: Fishing season is almost on us!

Falling in that 42% bracket tells me we get as much as as we can afford to practice and to have on hand for those harder times for protection, etc.
Now, the what if. What if they lowered the prices? Would us 42% 'ers then be all in the 5000+ group? I'm pretty sure I'd be doing that jump to ammo junkie!:grouphug:

Well, I shoot mostly flintlock muzzle loaders.

I helped a buddy gut an office suite a while back. Two dentist offices included. Saved all of the dead soft lead from the x-ray booths, plus some other that I picked up here and there. All total, maybe 2000-2200 lbs, and ya get about 32 balls/lbs. So....

And Because Goex has had fires in the past and Black Powder became in short supply, and the minimum order from the supplier is 25lbs. I keep a good stock on hand.

Now, because I live in a house built in the '20s' (Old galvanized pipe and cast iron drains) and do my own maintenance, and keep a few pieces on hand to cap something off when it breaks.

Well, I don't think that I should even said that much. :hide: Them homeland guys.... you never know
