ar 15 flash hider

hey guys I have a 14.5" ar with a silver soldered flash hider. has anyone ever removed one? I have done a pin and weld but never a solder. I want to replace the a2 witha vortex.

heat the solder directly to remove, then remove all remaining solder and finish/coating, clean with alcohol.
to replace, lightly heat both pieces then flux, then solder with the heat near but not directly wear you want to solder. finally quench seam with a wet rag while the solder is still fluid to draw the solder into the joint.
now refinish the barrel
