best place to buy crossbow??

I was looking at getting a crossbow myself due to shoulder surgery, not sure about rifle recoil vs. pain factor this fall.
I went and talked with the guy a Bass Pro to get an idea of what a newbie needs and he actually told me to look at Craigslist.com due to the deals potentially on used good condition crossbows being sold by those that have recently upgraded to newer and better crossbows. I actually laughed at first, but now have an idea what to look for now and have been reviewing daily to see if a deal comes along.
