Can the action on an XD sub compact be fine tuned or should I stay with the factory tuning?

Scott at Springer Precision or Rich at Canyon Creek. Springer offers a few more options though. Both do great work.

I tried a Powder River trigger kit and was not real impressed.

Powder River is a good DIY kit for basic trigger work. Reduces take up and overtravel. I wouldn't use his stuff for reduced pull weights or anything.

That being said unless this is a target gun leave the trigger alone.

Because it's a waste of money.

Is that an opinion or actual fact?

I have shot both with and without a trigger job during non stress shooting. I did much better with the trigger job guns. Why would a stressful situation be different?

Are you saying in a defensive situation you would shoot the same with or without a better trigger on the gun you have?

XD's have a horrible trigger, ton of take up,,, overtravel,,, and a looong reset...

even on the XD'm

a good trigger job is worth every penny on an XD.

some guns are fine without any trigger work, (Glock)... some can use a little help.. (XD)...

if your in west michigan and want to play with an XD with CanyonCreek trigger, come out to IDPA in Dorr, 3rd sunday every month. you can shooot my XD...
