Magpul Dynamics graciously donated 100 20 round Pmags to a friend of ours deploying soon. He is a Designated Marksman with the USMC and he and his boys will certainly get use out of these! HUGE props to Magpul!

out of curiosity why did they donate 20 round mags? Seems to make more sense to give out 30's when you are headed battle.

That stage was fun...but that FSC556 was really blowing back gas at me!

And those VTAC barriers were cool to use as well...wouldn't mind running more stages with those.

What is this?

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2443/3923838535_8f00c198fa.jpg

Looks like an AR pistol, but it has a P90 style magazine on the top.. And its a .22 (it looks like)...

5.7 AR upper. Sweet gun, not much recoil. He could really run it, too.

faily new thing. Couple of months ago all the online vendors had them, now not so much. About $700 for the upper

I'm not a DM but I think because the 30's get in the way with low bipods or other low shooting positions these guys are typically using.

The 5.7 is a neat gun, he has had a TON of work done to it too. The barrel has been chopped and a KX3 has been hidden INSIDE the quad rail. It has a pistol buffer tube on it and is an MI legal pistol. P90 mags hold 50 rounds and the system ejects the brass out the factory magwell making it easy to create a brass catcher out of an old AR mag.

I have a video of him running it uploading to youtube now. It will be ready shortly.

i don't mean to be a jackass, but in the Marines, marksman means you just barley passed the rifle qualification.

on the KD course of fire(table 1 200-500yds) you can get up to 250 points

Marksman 190-209
Sharpshooter 210-219
Expert 220-250

but regardless, every marine is a rifleman!

Maybe you could STFU unless you Know WTF your talking about.
Because that is what our friend requested.

Maybe you could resume taking you prescription medication again.

Reason I asked is because I do not know why they went with 20s which is different then what most people would expect

Well...since we are in the "Knowledge Sharing" forum and all...
I'd be interested in understanding why 20 is preferred over 30.

DMU they carry specfic scoped weapons for specific duties

running 30s rounder off bipods and rucks is a no no they requested 20's for that reason the MIL though has 30s all in the system and they were forced to get there own 20s... thats when i stepped In called a friend at magpul told him the issue they responded without batting an eye>

And so I dont think these guys just passed quals. his unit,

Now wouldnt that have been a better way to answer a question than to just tell someone to STFU?

It's a good time. Some people are there to run the fastest times, some are there to learn and improve on their skill sets, others just to have a good time...some people do a little of all three.

When I was there I saw a pretty good mix of people, a lot of military guys, a lot of 'regular' folk just running their home defense guns. In either event it was fun.

It isn't quite as serious as it may seem. I try to shoot as efficiently as possible while still maintaining a logical approach to the stages. ACTS has always been about shooting against yourself, not against everyone else. If I place well cool, but I just want to do things right and do them efficiently.

Yep, rimfire was introduced this year with the exception of the annual price match (CRC) based on ammo cost and availability.

Some guys run conversion kits in the AR's and there is a shot from this month of the new S&W 22 AR. It ran great. Mags are cheap too.

Good to know! I used to come back in the day too but I stopped due to the cost of money and lack of being able to find ammo.
