My father-in-laws. Going to take it to the bow shop and get a string and some bolts and see what it can do. Don't plan on hunting with it until I know what it can do. He thinks he bought it new in '64.

looks a bit like the kits some of the kids used to make in middle school shop class.

In nothing else, that would make a nice wall hanger. Sure looks neat. BTW, I like the AR hanging out in the backround on the second pic.

The only thing I would be concerned about is that the limbs appear to be aluminum. I have an OOOLD recurve that is aluminum as well and have read and been told many times that the metal gets weak from age and use and is prone to breaking.

true. aluminum doesn't live long if it is flexed. I'm surprized that anyone would us aluminum as a bow limb, I would have assumed it was stainless or something.

I think I left a few details out. It's "Powermaster" made by a company called WHAM-O out of Cali.

I was woundering if it was stainless or aluminum myself, my F-I-L says he let his brother borrow it and it sat in a barn for over ten years and the trigger guard and trigger mech got all rusty. Since stainless dosen't corode and aluminum does, I'm betting it's stainless.

But I'll let the experts make the final call.

I might be able to put a red dot on it. LOL

Wow! Very interesting. Had to go get it out again, no model # on it, kinda hard to tell the wieght, with that 2X6 atatched to it, but for now its looking like a wall hanger. (not mine to destroy)

Hadn't even thought about looking online, I was just going to take it to the local bow shop.

Thanks for the heads up jcurtis!

Better safe than sorry! I was kind of disappointed when I found out about all the problems these aluminum bows have since I have an old aluminum recurve that I wanted to break out and start using again. Just not worth risking injury to use them.

It will make a nice decoration and conversation piece though!
