2nd Annual MGO Memorial Shoot - Oct. 10th

October 10th marks the second annual Michigan Gun Owners Memorial shoot, held at Howell Gun Club. The memorial shoot was first held to remember long time MGO member and 2A supporter John (WhoIsJohnGalt) Johnson. Since then MGO has decided to make this an annual event to honor and remember fallen MGO members.

A local police chaplain will give an opening prayer at the beginning of the event.

Bring out your favorite firearm (or more) with ammo and have fun with fellow members enjoying the same. Last year we all brought plenty of ammo so that we could try each others firearms and just had an all around 'BLAST' (pun intended). All while remembering and celebrating the lives of others that have meant so much to MGO.

There is no competing, no prizes, no sales, no tickets and no firearms restrictions (except full auto). There will be safety officers on hand to make sure it is a safe event and that all can have fun. We will all be shooting from the same distance, so bringing a 1000 yard precision rifle as your only 'fun gun' you might get frustrated shooting at 10-15 yards, plan on closer distance fun!

What better way to honor the memory of other like minded people than by expending large amounts of gun powder!

Howell Gun Club is located at:

3210 Jewell Rd, Howell, MI

The shoot will be from 12pm-3pm, and an informal dinner will be held at a local eatery (yet to be decided). Come on out and have a good time, shoot some guns, and honor our fellow MGO members who have passed on.

John was a great guy, still have the kel-tec 380 he sold to me many years ago. Serial number is less than 600, he went the extra mile to get me one of those early on in the production.

I was Honored to be with his Widow Dawn when she spread his ashes. John was a stand up guy.

I just learned about John's passing here a couple of days ago.
We were in and out of contact for many years.
I was wondering why I didn't see his witty posts here and over at cpltrainer.
My wife and John were friends many, many, many, many years ago.
He's a picture of the John from long ago and far away.
