View Full Version : remington 1187 problems loading

for some reason my dads 1187 is having some problems.
its almost like the bottom lever isn't going up all the way to let the shell in.
you have to force a shell up in it.
took it totally apart and greased it and put it back together and low and behold it still does it. any suggestions?

Possibilities are many. Additional lubricant does not usually fix feed problems. Take it to a qualified gunsmith.

please dont take this the wrong way, but did you RE-assemble it correctly?

From my limited memory, the 1187 is very easy to put back together
wrong...

yeah pretty sure. the wierd thing is the shells goin fine when the barrel is not on it but as soon as i put the barrel back on it. i can't load it.

thanks for your help guys, he just dropped it off at the smiths.
