I'm just getting started in CMP and NRA Highpower and also into reloading. Care to share your favorite 69, 75, 77, and 80 grain recipes? I have lots of LC and WCC brass and beaucoup CCI41 primers. Also have VARGET and AA2520 on hand. Will be firing from a 20" barrel with 1:7 twist and also a 20" with 1:9 twist.

My load is a work in progress nut it is based on the 75gr SMK.

All the ball powders I tried were giving me a lot of excessive powder burn so I switched. I have several test loads just need some time to try tem out. Consider me subscribed.

i currently run 24.5g of Varget under a 75 hornady boattail match on the short lines and the same powder under the 75 Amax for 600...

ive used a similar load under the 77 sierra matchkings with similar results...

why do i shoot the hornadys? they were cheaper when i was shopping...

the 75/75A combo above is nice because you only have to adjust your bullet seating depth some on the Amax. youll never get it to fit into a magazine but you only single load at 600 anyway so its not an issue...

ive shot the plain 75 all the way back but i like the mental edge i get from running the Amax...

you could run the 77s all the way or you could use them on the short line and substitute the 80smk for 600 if you want...

hope to see you at the MRPA matches next season. good bunch of guys and some great shooters willing to help...

I couldn't find 77 SMK's when I was ordering, so I bought 75 grain Hornady BTHP's. I also ordered 69 SMK's. I just got my Hornady handbook today, so I'll be loading some test shells with Varget and AA2520.

I'm wondering how much different they'll perform when the weather gets hot though. If I load my test rounds in increments up to the max, am I likely to have problems when the weather heats up? Am I going to learn anything useful firing these when it's cold out?
