Every year ACTS does a collection for Toys for Tots at our annual Christmas party. This year the party will be after the deadline for TfT, so we're taking donations at the December match (Dec 12th).

If you bring a toy, you'll get $5 off your match fee. Let's make some kids happy if we can.

I'll be at the match most likely...I can bring a toy or two.

What is this Christmas party...? Members only?

It is posted/planned in the members section, not sure if there are any actual rules as to who can and cannot come. We're a friendly bunch. I'll PM you some info.

BUT! If you sign up for a membership ($30/year) you get discounted match fees EVERY month, and will only have to pay $15 to shoot in Dec if you also bring a toy. :)

Is there an ACTS match planned for January? I'd really like to participate in one of these but won't be in the area until then.

Holy crap batman, I might be able to make this one!

Questions Tom:

can I pay my membership fee at the shoot?

And I have to make it back to Jackson by one. Which puts me leaving the shoot by twelve. Will this be enough time to do what I need to do?

Thanks,
Keith

Yes there is a match every month. 2nd Saturday.

Keith- They usually go longer than that, but we are pretty generous about letting people shoot through if they need to be somewhere. It is as much of a social event as a shooting one, so you'll miss out on some fun conversations, but you should be able to get through without much problem. Ask the match director (actually Steve might have the next one, not sure) or your squads RO and they will take care of you.

Trust me, if I could stay longer I'd bring lunch. I'm on a set schedule now, Monday Tuesdays off. So I have to work at 2.

When/if I get back up north I might be able to stick around the whole day.

Thanks again Tom

When you do get back up here and decide to take one in....drag my sorry ash along, I want to see one of these events.

Better yet, figure a way to host one at the club.

You do realize society has moved on from horse drawn carriages, and have motorcars now right? They make traveling over longer distances quite pleasant.

Just FYI. :)

I know but....even with a blower, I still have sleep issues. I can't drive forever like I used to....not even close, at least not by myself.

We'll do DD. And if what I'm hearing from the Inside intel is correct. It might be sooner than later. Let's hope.

Cool, sounds like I'm in then.

I believe me and my bud are finally in for this one, whats the start/stop time, price per shooter, and how many rounds of rifle/pistol do we need?

Get there around 9:30. Stop time is when we're done. Usually 2-3pm.

Cost is $25 for non members.

Bring a couple hundred rounds of each, you'll usually shoot much less than that.

Serpa's are fine, until you shoot yourself. Be careful with them, but they are not prohibited. Jeff

Yes. ACTS pride themselves (rightfully) on that.

It's going to be cold.

I've been trying to find a store around here that has an underarmour cold gear face mask in black but no luck. If anyone comes across one and wants to pick it up for me I can pay you at the match.

That might not be so bad then. I spent all day outside today at -11 wind chill. That makes for a long day.

I might be out for Saturday.

A lot going on this weekend and having my power out for 24 hours recently didn't help...I'm STILL cold as hell...my house got down to 40*!

It's mostly the gas money getting there...plus my car's transmission is about to go, so putting the miles on it isn't the best...

I still might make it out, I dunno.

Dude Joey, I'm coming from Jackson if you need a ride let me know. Or we can meet and I can drive the rest.

I'm about ready to walk into work so if you want to call me about 10:15 and we can work something out. 989-620-1059

I'm planning to be there. Hopefully nothing comes up in the next 13 hours. Weather should be balmy compared to the last two days.
